A recording of Kenny Dorham’s Blue Bossa that I did quite quickly with my brother a short while ago. Myself on lead guitar and him on rhythm. We then added a little percussion track. All a bit rough around the edges but enjoyable to listen to I hope!

(we don’t tend to get on well so the possibility of more than a couple of takes would never have arisen before an argument had!)

Russell Malone, Christian McBride & Benny Green - Jingles

This is a remarkable performance, the percussion-less trio stay amazingly tight. The ability of the bassist really stands out here I think, he doesn’t miss a beat and does a solo that comfortably matches the also excellent work of Russell and Benny. Definitely worth a listen!

Buuut, Jazz remains firmly in the top spot of course, and it doesn’t get much better than this…

A Night In Tunisia

Shocking as this may be, I have other musical interests outside of Blues and Jazz, and this is one of them: Debussy.

This piece creates an absolutely luscious scene, and is some genius writing.
